Description

A contemporary screenprint on paper titled âChairsâ by Ann Mikolowski. Hand signed in pencil and dated 1997 on the bottom right. Annotated IV/IV A.P. and titled bottom left. A pointillism composition depicting a line of Adirondack chairs in nature. Provenance: Alice Simsar Gallery, Ann Arbor. Dimensions: 21.75âh x 29.75âw (unframed). In very good vintage condition. 

Ann Mikolowski (1940-1999) was a twentieth-century American contemporary artist. She was a painter of portrait miniatures and waterscapes, as well as a printmaker and illustrator of printed matter. Mikolowski was part of Detroit's Cass Corridor artist movement and co-founder of The Alternative Press. Selected institutional collections include the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian, Detroit Institute of Arts, State of Michigan University of Michigan Library, University of Michigan Museum of Art, Wayne State University and Wayne State University Library.
